Konferenz "Semantic Web in Bibliotheken (SWIB10)"

"120 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer aus neun Nationen kamen am 29./30.11.2010 in Köln zur SWIB10 zusammen. Die bereits wochenlang vorher ausgebuchte Konferenz wurde wie im Vorjahr von der ZBW – Leibniz-Informationszentrum Wirtschaft und dem Hochschulbibliothekszentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen (hbz) veranstaltet.
Vertreter der deutschen, der französischen und der ungarischen Nationalbibliothek präsentierten ihre erfolgreich abeschlossenen und gerade im Gang befindlichen Projekte im Bereich Semantic Web und Linked Open Data. Antoine Isaac stellte die Aktivitäten im W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) vor. Karen Coyle, führende Evangelistin des Linked-Data-Gedankens in der US-amerikanischen und weltweiten Bibliotheksszene, gab in ihrer Keynote einen kritischen Einblick in die aktuellen Standardisierungsbestrebungen wie RDA und FRBR. Die Publizierung von Bibliotheksdaten zur freien Nutzung war ebenso Konferenz-Thema wie vielfältige Werkstattberichte aus aktuell laufenden Linked-Data-Aktivitäten."
